Pre-Kindergarten & Young 5s

St. Mary Pre-Kindergarten shares with the Church the mission of Jesus Christ. In a faith-filled academic environment, children grow in their relationship

with God, the Catholic Church and the community. 

We also believe that parents and guardians are

the child's first teachers, and we are in the

partnership with the children's families.

Our Program

St. Mary Pre-Kindergarten offers developmentally-appropriate activities to develop children:

  • Spiritually

  • Socially

  • Emotionally

  • Intellectually

  • Physically​

  • Flexible options for full day & 1/2 day schedules.

  • PK & Young 5s attend CGS.

  • In addition Young 5s attend "specials," art, music, physical education & library.

Sample Schedule

  • Free choice activities

  • Circle Time: Calendar, fingerplays, letter of the week, theme of the week, weather, story time

  • Small group activities: art, sensory play, math concepts, literacy activities, fine motor skills, dramatic play

  • Teacher and child directed activities

  • Snack time: children prepare and eat their own snack

  • Large motor skills: Outdoor play and gym play.

PK and Young 5 begins the classical curriculum with emphasis on poetry & handwriting.

Children learn through play, and the play is focused on learning.
All activities have the child in mind and are designed to
develop the skills they will need to learn for kindergarten
and elementary school and beyond.
